About Rye

Hello! My name is Rye Easton. I am a 26-year-old DevOps engineer at Checkr, living in Denver. I am a huge hockey fan (go Avs!) and a lover of technology.

I try to strike a balance between theory and practicality in computer science. For obvious reasons, that's easier said than done -- but you can't have one without the other. Before Checkr, I earned my Master of Science in Computer Science at Colorado State University, where I was heavily involved as a teaching assistant. The classes that I worked for include our large software engineering classes (CS314) and our theory-based algorithms/formal math classes (CS320, CS220). The former was quite successful for me; as the DevOps lead for the course, I was able to launch a number of projects to improve developer experience and reduce the operations workload for future staff groups.
